Chrome’s YouTube video lagging in full screen glitch is one of the most annoying issues with the video platform. The problem occurs when you use Chrome as your browser to watch videos on YouTube.
The video starts playing normally and then it freezes for a few seconds before loading. Most users reported that this happens every time they try to watch a video in fullscreen mode on Chrome.
It could be that there is some sort of compatibility issue between Google’s Chrome browser and the video platform.
Now, the two are known to have had bumpy rides before such as YouTube’s low volume issues in Chrome. Nevertheless, YouTube video lagging in full screen is not a Chrome-exclusive glitch.
While this can happen on other browsers as well, you’re less likely to face an Opera YouTube fullscreen problem, for instance.
🖊️Quick Tip:
Is Chrome YouTube lagging? You won’t have to struggle with Opera YouTube lagging issues simply because the latter supports YouTube’s native HTML5 player.
Try a backup browser that’s constantly improving. You can switch from your current browser and import bookmarks and saved passwords. Exporting bookmarks from Opera is just as easy later on.
Why does YouTube video lag when fullscreen?
If you are experiencing YouTube video lagging in full screen, it could be due to one or more of the following reasons:
- ➡️ Internet connection issues – If your Internet connection has been experiencing issues, then this could cause your YouTube videos to play slowly or not at all. Your internet connection may not be fast enough to play a video in HD quality.
- ➡️ Interference by extensions – Check for any extensions that may be interfering with the page. These can include ad blockers, script blockers, and other extensions that may be slowing down your browser. If you have any of these installed, try disabling them and see if this fixes the issue.
- ➡️ Outdated browser – If you’re using an older version of Chrome, it’s highly recommended that you update your browser. The latest versions of these browsers are more efficient and more stable than older versions, so updating will help prevent any issues with playback.
- ➡️ Not enough bandwidth or memory – If you are viewing a video in fullscreen mode, it will take up more space on your computer’s memory and processor.
Admittedly, YouTube has had video buffering issues in Chrome at times. Due to its popularity and heavy traffic on it daily basis, it is no surprise that you may experience lag issues occasionally.
